| - We usually travel between Chicago and the East coast at least a couple times each year and this is our favorite place to stay due to its proximity to Cuyahoga National Park. The accommodations are nice and comfortable. They have a pool, combined indoor and outdoor (in the summer months). There's a Schubas restaurant on the premises that offers a wonderful menu (try the calamari fries!). The staff are always friendly and courteous. They will even leave board games in your room upon request for the kiddos.
We arrived a bit late last night, but were able to take a quick dip in the pool and soak in the hot tub with some fine cocktails from the bar and they weren't pushing us out at the closing time. After changing into some dry clothes, we headed back to Schubas for a bite. My son wanted a Ramen from the lobby market, and when we walked into Schubas, the hostess immediately noticed the ramen and offered to fill it with hot water without us even asking. The kitchen had literally just been closing according to the hostess, but the chef came out and said "you're fine! Whatever you want." We of course had the calamari fries and a couple other items. All very good and fresh!
This morning I slept in a bit (the best sleep I've had in days by the way). We didn't realize until 9:55 that the breakfast ended at 10, so we "ran" into the restaurant just as they were breaking everything down (exactly 10am). We thought for sure we'd be politely told we'd just missed it. But Terri stopped what she was doing and encouragingly told us "go on ahead, everything is still hot. Help yourself!" The server Anne, who was just about done cleaning up the tables, came over with a smile and offered us our coffee. We were so apologetic, but these amazing staff were so accommodating and friendly. I just can't say enough about this place. We are so pleased that some of the staff we've come to know over the years are still here, so it's almost like staying with family. I can't imagine anyone having a bad experience here.
