  • I love Fremont because it's so different and unique. Whoever decided to revamp old Vegas by putting a lighted roof on it is a genius. It's so cheesy and kitschy there but in the right way. Sometimes cheesy old school Vegas is exactly what you need. Leave behind the $18 weak drinks and trendy clubs of the strip and grab yourself some $5 buffet grub, $1 beers, or prime rib. There's a lot of hidden gems down on Fremont. Pose with one of many buskers, and street performers. Great photo ops, and people watching plus a fantastic light show. Parking is free, and of course you need to watch out for scammers galore. We had our caricatures done here. While we loved our caricatures the guy who drew them was ultra sketchy. There was a guy and gal working there. We approached the gal and asked if we could pay with a credit card. She said yes. Once it came time to pay the man snapped at us and said " no cards! Cash only! Card machine is broken!" The gal than talked to him and he agreed to take our card. Wow, so now his card reader works? He did not get a tip. Watch out for the many venders down here who want cash only or charge extra fees.
