| - Shame on you, Wynn Hotel. My husband and I spent 4th of July weekend in Vegas and ate at the The Buffet 4th of July evening. Huge mistake. Less than one hour after we got back to our room, my husband started to feel a little queasy. Thinking it was due to a little overeating, we assumed with a little Pepto and water he would be fine. Fast-forward 10 hours, it is 5:30 in the morning and I am racing my husband to an urgent care facility in Vegas because he has been puking his guts out and having diarrhea ALL NIGHT LONG.
After getting back from urgent care, where he had to be put on an IV drip due to massive dehydration, we made a point to stick around to submit a statement with Security because we believed it to be food poisoning from the hotel's buffet. We requested only his half of our money back because I didn't get sick.
About 24-36 hours later, the hotel claims department called us at home to follow up. The nice lady over the phone told us that because they could not definitively determine the cause of my husband's sudden and violent illness, they would not be refunding our money. As my husband later put it, this lady was clearly hired to act sympathetic to our plight and then at the end ever so politely tell us to go to hell.
Food for thought:
1. My husband and I had nothing else to eat that day because we were saving our stomachs for the buffet.
2. We are not big on alcohol and we did not have a drop of it to drink that night.
3. I am much pickier than my husband and did not eat many of the foods he ate. By itself, my not getting sick proves nothing.
4. It is entirely possible that my husband picked the one piece of meat that was not under the heat lamp and was therefore at an unsafe temp, thus resulting in hordes of ecoli, salmonella, etc. populating it, later making him sick.
If you assholes working for this establishment are reading this, yes I am PISSED that my husband and I spent about $110 total to eat at your shitty buffet and you didn't have the grace and decency to refund us the half we requested, but we filed that claim not for compensation necessarily but because we wanted you to know your standards are slipping.
Many thanks for treating us like garbage and most likely turning a blind eye to dangerous SOP that could get others horribly ill. I appreciate you providing us with so many towels, Wynn Hotel, since my husband utilized many of them our last night in Vegas for his makeshift bed next to the toilet. F*** YOU.
