So I went to this nail shop based on fellow yelp reviews. Warning: I am extremely picky about my nails and don't mind paying top dollar for good service. I only went here because my usual nail tech is appointment only and I needed my nails done last minute. The staff were very friendly and greeted me promptly upon entering the door, even offered me water. When asked what I wanted I showed a picture of something somewhat simple. A little matte here and a sparkle or two there. The reason for 3 stars is because of my nail tech and overall satisfaction. First let me applaud him for the size and shape of my nails. I prefer long coffin nails, and I have noticed that your typical nail shops can't seem to get them all even or make them too thin. Anywho he did marvelous. Now to the cons. First off I asked him not to cut my nails so low because i am trying to grow them out. I was aware that they needed to be evened out but that is not what he did! He nodded his head as if he understood but not only did he basically cut my nails off, they were cut unevenly and extremely short. As he started to do my nails and he got to the portion to where he cuts the length he didn't even ask me how long I wanted them. He just made an assumption and I had to stop him before he made the first cut. While doing my nails he was extremely rough during the filing which was a little painful and he even cut my cuticle so low it started to bleed. I became afraid of an infection and asked to wash my hands and he instructed me that I could do that later. Never mind the fact that this would be the time frame that would be best for a wash because there was powder getting into the cut from the grinding of the filing. When it came to painting my nails (which was also painful on the nail that was cut as paint soaked into my cuticle) again he tried to make an assumption. I have two colors, he didn't even bother to ask which color I wanted for which nail. Instead I had to stop him again before he made an error. Keep in mind my cuticle was still hurting and he didn't seem to care the way he handled that nail. After sitting under the UV he added oil to my cuticles, he then instructed me to wash my hands. They don't allow tips via debt and I didn't bring any cash..maybe it was for the best. After leaving the shop, i noticed the paint on one of my nails is semi smeared at the top, as if he didn't put enough paint on it. Plus I have that annoying glue on my fingers. All in all he did an ok job in my opinion not worth 48.00 but whatever I learned my lesson I will just wait for my nail tech next time.
