| - I am surprised to be writing a positive review for a furniture store. Furniture stores have the reputation of used car sales lots, slimey salespeople screwing people over. I'm happy to say we did not have that experience at all at RC Willey!
To be fair, there are a ton of salespeople roaming the floor. They are also normally dressed in casual clothes, so they can be tough to distinguish from just normal customers. However, the three we ran into were very helpful without being pushy at all.
Tony, Natalya, and Crystal all spoke to us and helped us by informing us and talking about what we want. When we came back to get the couch we want, we asked for Tony and Natalya, and the store even went so far as to call them to see if they were around so they could get the sale (so seemingly not a stab each other in the back kind of place). Crystal got ahold of Tony, and Tony just said hey if they're there go ahead and help them! No worries.
Crystal took a ton of time, like, an obnoxious amount of time with us trying to figure out if the couch we were looking at would fit the way we wanted in our living room. She went out of her way to bring in a other sales people and a manager just to get down to the core of how this couch was able to be ordered and if we could get it the way we wanted (thing is like a crazy jigsaw puzzle with a bunch of pieces, some no longer made).
The greek manager Satki (not sure how it is spelled, but sounded like this), was SO nice. He sat with us forever trying to figure it out, and no joke, at least two times I said "I don't care, let's just buy this couch and we will make it work even if it's not perfect in the space" ...and he kept saying, no, you don't spend money like this unless it's exactly what you want. Wow. Talk about not high pressure sales.
The biggest question I had going into a place like this: Can you negotiate? Well, the answer for RC Willey....is no. We tried, three times. Crystal just said no, the prices don't change for different customers, they are what they are unfortunately. Fair enough...but who knows if she is just saying that.
Then we had a very similar conversation with her manager with her not around. We basically said hey, we have been here forever, we want to spend this money, we just need to possibly buy a separate ottoman to make it work...can you make us a deal? He immediately said guys, this is a corporation, we don't have different prices for different customers, that's not how we work. /end conversation
Very impressed, still waiting on the couch, so we will see how that goes with delivery!
