  • Common Auto Dealer Scams Bait and Switch - False statements about the price of the car. From http://www.publiccounsel.org/pages/?id=0003 ______________________ Never been so disappointed with a car dealership in my life, as with Lexus of Las Vegas. Where do I begin? Yesterday, on Saturday, July 22. I learned that when Malishka, their online contact, tells you that the car is $xxxx and there are no further charges, what she means, the car is $xxxx out the door, with no further charges, EXCEPT FOR A $1000 DOWN PAYMENT. I bargained with her, to what she SAID was the final, out the door price, even backed up with an email showing the structure of their offer. So I drive to their dealership and when I go to sign the loan, they tell me they will not give me the keys to the car until they receive the check from Capital One. I was like, wtf??? They would not change their mind, so I walked out. A couple of hours later, Leon, calls me, saying that my bank told them there was a $1000 down payment in the agreement they made with me. Uh huh. Soooo, if I only agree to buy a 3 year service agreement, I can have the car. Good God. And this was AFTER they lied to me, and any other suckers, about a reduction in the car's price from the day before. Malishka told me they reduced the price because of a repair that needed to be done. I noticed that the Dealer's Advertised Price was $600 less. Malishka, not knowing I knew what their price was the day before, says that is because the car needs an $1100 repair. Later, she tells me the Out The Door price is $xxxx, which is only $50 lower than the day before. Oops! So, I negotiated the "out the door" price, to account for the repair that the car needs, forcing them to honor the $1100 repair, only to find out, like I said above, that I was being lied to, and they would not let me drive the car home after signing the loan. I'd rather be dragged down the Las Vegas Strip bare naked at 50 mph, my ankles tied to that beautiful 350z, than do business with this creepy collection of liars and unethical Bait and Switch artists. I ended up buying a 2015 Hyundai Elantra from a no haggle dealership. What a WORLD of difference. STAY AWAY from Lexus of Las Vegas.
