| - After reading the ratings and reviews on Yelp, we drove 30 minutes across town to try Soyo.
The ambience was cozy and quaint, with a colorful and whimsical chalkboard filled with dessert offerings to greet us. We scored a large booth (we preferred this over outdoor patio seating since it was 105 degrees outside.
Upon seating, we were offered cold, refreshing bori cha (barley tea). Note: If you would like ice cold water, you'll have to ask (they do not offer unless you ask).
The meal: We ordered galbi, bulgolgi and bibimbap (marinated ribs, meat and hot stone rice with veggies and egg). All delicious and savory. My only complaint is that they didn't have a variety of vegetable tastings upon seating / before the meal (most rival Korean restaurants have a variety of fermented vegetables. This includes kimchi, radishes, sprouts, etc. This offering was limited). Additionally, the fermented vegetables, bulgolgi bibimbap, galbi all contained sesame seeds. I enjoyed them, but sadly, my Aunt had to pick around it since she is allergic to them. We asked if they could prepare some vegetables without, and they said they could not. Strange, but true.
Overall, the main entrees were great (sans the sesame for my Aunt), and fairly priced. I didn't try the dessert, my may next time around.
