| - Squirrels had been using a 40 years old silver maple tree to leap onto the roof of my parents' house this spring, chewed through a plastic roof vent to gain entry to the attic, one fell into a wall cavity and chewed through drywall into the kitchen!
My dad called 5 or 6 companies for quotes to trim back the maple tree and prevent the squirrels from leaping onto the roof, since cutting it down requires permit process which takes up to 6-8 weeks and no guarantee the application will be approved, plus it will be expensive.
Peter at Atlantic Tree Service arrived quickly to provide a very reasonable quote, which was very welcoming compared to other quotes my dad received, one was 3 times as much! Maybe that outfit thought they can take advantage of a couple of seniors.
We decided to go with Peter after I spoke with him with due diligence questions, Peter said they could start in two days, their crew of 4 arrived promptly two days later exactly on-time.
Took them about 2.5 hours to finish trimming the tree so the squirrels cannot jump over to the roof, they also trimmed other branches to balance the appearance and wind loading on the tree.
The branches trimmed off were then shredded into wood chips and carried away by the crews, they used blowers to clean up any debris left over by the wood chipper.
Overall we were extremely pleased with the work performed, promptness, and price of the service provided by Atlantic Tree Services, very highly recommended.
