| - Brass vixens is the first pole dance studio that I went to, and it definitely helped me start a new and fun fitness routine. However, after trying out other studios in the city, I would say that Brass Vixens is the WORST of the bunch. This is primarily because the classes are so overbooked! Even when a class isn't marked as "pole share" on the schedule, you can almost guarantee that you will have to share a pole with someone, meaning that you pay full price but only get half the work-out! When a class IS marked as pole share (e.g. all of their spin pole classes), you will probably end up sharing between 3-4 people! With 12 poles in the class and up to 24 students to 1 instructor ratio, you get no individualized feedback, which makes it very difficult to improve.
By comparison, other studios I've been to in the city have only 6 students to 1 teacher (and no pole sharing), which allows instructors to give each student helpful pointers on technique. I would really recommend that Brass Vixens stop overbooking their classes, and replace all of their outdated 50mm and 40mm static poles with competition-standard 45mm poles that have a spin option.
As an aside, I've personally noticed on at least 2 occasions where their online booking system has assigned me "no show" or "late cancel" fees when I did not even book a class! I argued these with staff, but they took no accountability and made me pay anyways. I'm not sure if it is a computer glitch, or part of some scam where they think that people will not put up a fight to avoid paying an extra $5 or $10, but then they pull this on numerous people to make extra income?
Don't go here! Get value for your money and go to one of the other studios in the city! :)
