Wow! We had so much fun at Tao I don't even know where to begin. First off, my wife and I are almost anti-Vegas clubs because of the whole pretentious way people are admitted into them. I just wish everyone got a chance to get into the club equally - like they do on the east coast. But fortunately, we had a connection and we were put on the staff guest list. No line, no cover - quickly inside we went. The decor would have been worth it even if we had to wait - especially the little terrace overlooking the strip. The staff were incredibly friendly despite their authoritative appearance. The drinks were typical Vegas...overpriced, under-liquored. You're almost better sticking with beer unless you really like sucking on ice cubes. The club got packed very quickly - but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The only real issue I had is the number of VIP private tables - they crowd the whole place and you're immediately made to feel like a peon once someone "important" shows up. Almost like a peasant being pushed aside for the King's arrival. But its a definite must-see, must-do experience for Vegas. One tip...arrive EARLY (like, before they open).
