| - This is now called Honor Health hospital (I could not find a listing for just the hospital on Yelp).
I just got home from the worst 11 hour Emergency Room/Hospital stay ever. It was the first time I ever considered checking myself out of a hospital for my own safety and well-being.
Despite numerous requests, I did not get my night-time medications (2 of which are dangerous to stop suddenly) or my long-acting insulin. I did not get my morning quick-acting insulin or all of my morning meds. I went over all of my meds with the ER nurse - something I had to insist on doing. They only offer morphine for pain and it doesn't work on me. The nurse said they don't give Ibuprofen or Tylenol.
There were dozens of other issues - big & small - but I'm too exhausted to write more.
I didn't sleep a wink, mainly because of the hours spent waiting in the ER on a hard, painful "bed", plus the fact that I use a CPAP machine when I sleep (so I don't stop breathing) and they only had one type of mask, which covered both the mouth & nose and made me feel claustrophobic. They did not have masks that just cover the nose, or "nasal pillows", like I use at home, which just fit into your nostrils.
I just wanted to make sure to warn others not to go there. God only knows what would have happened if I hadn't been alert and willing to complain & ask questions - repeatedly. When I complained to one nurse, she said: "Well, Phyllis, this isn't the Hilton!"
