| - Ah, yes, here we have a place that combines two of the things I hate most: crappy buffets and long lines. This place has them both. A line to get in and pay. Then a line to be seated. Then lines at anywhere that has food, except for the standalone areas that most people seem either not to notice or notice, but want no part of.
The decor and interior seems like a really large family diner-style place, like Perkins or Elmer's or Denny's, etc. It's basically acceptable, but not much more. Drinks will be the only things served to you, but not very quickly. It doesn't matter. If you have discriminating taste at all, it will take you a while to find something that's above substandard. The prime rib seemed to do pretty well. The chile shrimp-in-the-shell was good the first time, but they clearly did not shock them in cold water on subsequent batches and all of the chitosan was fused to the meat. Fun. (Not.) I looked around for the crab legs and never did wind up finding those. That was about all that was interesting on the lunch menu, including the dessert table. The iced tea, however, was one of the best I've had anywhere.
For breakfast, it was marginally better, with some omelets and so on being available. Tea served was a cheap one. It took a lot of digging, but the ham-based stuff seemed to do pretty well and everything else was mostly a misfire. The smoked salmon, in particular, was one of the largest disasters I've ever seen and equal parts woeful and shameful, with a dash of pathetic.
I know Vegas is known for its great buffets, but this is not one of them. This is a place that is expensive, with food quality ranging from poor to mediocre. Not only that, it is slow and I've never seen it without a line at the entrance, even when the place is only moderately full. Take a pass on this one. You can do better.
