I've been working odd hours lately, so I took the opportunity to take the girlfriend out for lunch. She led me to Ichiban Sushi and I have to admit, I was really impressed.
It's not the largest restaurant, and therefore treated to the life story of the woman sitting in the booth beside us. Thankfully, the service was extra fast. The server excused himself every time he interupted our conversation, which was unneccassary but a welcome touch.
I got the "Sushi A", which is 8 different pieces of sushi with 6 pieces of Maki. This included a miso soup, noodle soup and a salad. All for under $10!
The sushi was excellent. The fish was cut in such a way that it didn't swim around in your mouth like it does when it's cut poorly. The maki was great as well.
As we got up and headed for the door, what seemed like the entire staff said goodbye and wished us a good day. Just a nice final touch to the friendly atmosphere to go with the great food.
Not only did I get some much needed face time in with the girlfriend, but I was treated to an excellent lunch that didn't empty out my pockets. I'll definitely be returning to Ichiban Sushi.
