  • Husband and I were walking around Fountain Hills and stopped in Sofrita. We weren't quite in the mood for Spanish style tapas, but still got an app and a few drinks. We enjoyed what we got and figured we'd come back. Our bill was $22.88 and he left a $4.50 tip- total of $27.38. A week later he noticed we were charged $38.88. He called the restaurant several times and after finally talking to the manager, she said she would investigate what happened. She did confirm that the tip mysteriously got changed to $16.00 and claimed this was the first time this has ever happened. He asked to be informed if she discovered that their receipt was altered....but never found out. He did get a refund, so Sofrita earns "1 star" for that. I would highly recommend holding on to your receipts until charges clear your account. We will not be going back.
