| - A friend and I stayed three nights for our annual visit to the World Nationals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte. We arrived just a bit after noon and our room was ready. The hotel is very clean and seems to be quite new. All amenities in the room, hallways and lobby area are top notch and provide for a nice ambiance. The staff were ALL very friendly, especially my sister f/ Kenya ( I don't recall her name, but she has a wonderful sense of humor and I looked forward to joking with her each day.
The breakfast buffet on the other hand left alot to be desired as the food seemed to be simply processed stuff that could be nuked easily (instant eggs, processed sausage, etc..), The dining area is small and probably fits between 15-20 people at most which is quite inadequate for the size of the hotel.
Something that was a real inconvenience and no fault of the hotels' is all the road construction in the area around the hotel. There was no getting ANYWHERE quickly as the main drag in front of the hotel is at a stand still at most times during the day. All the construction also makes it a nightmare to try to find the motel and since there are so few highways in the Charlotte areas that aren't divided highways, you must go all the way down the street to turn around and wait in traffic again to get back to the place where you were supposed to turn initially, but had no signage or warning. I'm sure it will be nice when it is all done, but in the year since our last visit, the construction probably moved 10 miles at best.
Would I return, yes, if I got the price that I paid ($86/night) as opposed to the $179 my friends paid since they booked a week before the trip.
