I had a horrible check in experience. I hope this review helps you gain from my pain. Me and the bachelorette (don't ask; long story) had separate rooms. I booked on Expedia. She booked on Hotels.
Yes, this is a pattern where the Palazzo hotel was cancelling third party booked reservations en masse. THe likelihood of both our reservations not going thru is very very low.
SO, when I checked in. My reservation was not visible. I had to call Expedia (very tough bc Expedia engineers friction into the customer service process). I had to call Expedia to have them repush the Expedia confirmed reservation thru to Palazzo's 'job duties department' (also known as trying to manage Memorial Day overbooking by being 104% overbooked)
Note: My expedia confirmation number was of no use.
Note: the hold time on Expedia was extraordinarily long
TIP: If you're booking directly on Palazzo's site, expect to pay more than double.
TIP: If you're booking on Expedia, Priceline or Hotels, expect the hotel to disavow. Call Expedia 2-5 hours before you try to check in and say, "Hey Palazzo's job duties department does not have me in the system. Push my reservation thru again.
TIP Ideally, you would call palazzo and venetian from the McCarran tarmack because you're gonnna be on hold forever with 877-359-8474
TIP: I would call the Venetian Palazzo the night before and have them email you a confirmation. Do not accept a verbal confirmation. I got a verbal confirmation because I sent flowers to Jessica's room - See my Yelp review of the flowers https://twitter.com/LarryChiang/status/870324992390680576
Get it in writing from Palazzo or you will be stuck at the front desk holding your shih tzu!
