Once again Barnes & Noble disappoints - I don't know why I expected anything different from a consistently underwhelming retailer.
After scouring the internet for a popular title and finding that major online and brick-and-mortar bookstores had sold out of the book, I took a chance on B&N.
The book was not available in this or any other nearby B&N stores, but it WAS available for ordering online at bn.com.
No indication of it being backordered or out of stock.
It was even 15% off!
Score!
I finalized my order (with expedited shipping for the holidays!) and hit submit. Got a confirmation, looks great!
Only to be notified nearly an hour later that my chosen book would be ready to ship on January 7. Really, guys? You can't include this info on the front-end (say in the order details before I hit submit) or even better ON THE PAGE WHERE YOU LIST THE TITLE so that I don't waste time "buying" a book that I'm never going to get?
I finally found the title from a small shop in New York. Paid a lot more for it, but I didn't get the runaround, the bad information, and the bad taste that always lingers in my mouth after any interaction with this bummer of a company.
I keep trying to spend money at your store but you never have enough of your sh*t in order to make it happen!
