I walked past their sandwich board sign that literally has the words, "Walk Ins Welcome" on it to be told that they didn't accept walk ins. Or specifically, only their registered patients could have walk in appointments. I was quite clearly limping and in pain but was offered no information on how to become a registered patient. The conversation was polite but abrupt, like when someone is trying to end a small talk conversation. It was clear they were not interested in talking to me.
I finally made my way to the ER and found out I had a broken foot. The doctor told me that before the x-rays confirmed it as just by touching it it was obvious.
Most likely they couldn't have helped me with a broken bone anyway, but I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to admit it when I'm hurt, so when they turned me away I tried to walk it off for a couple of hours which eventually became excruciating.
Don't let stupid pride or lying sandwich boards get in the way of receiving proper treatment. Quite frankly, if I can't trust their cardboard signage, I'm probably not going to trust their medical advice.
