  • So my lease is ending and I get a call from Mindy to come in for my final inspection and see what other deals I was eligible for on a new Ford. Well, I went in to meet Mindy and she quickly stuck me with one of the most unprofessional sales people I've ever dealt with - CARLOS ESCAMILLA JR. He claims he can get me a similar deal on a new Ford, but I told him I was still shopping competitors. He claimed he would see what he could do and needless to say, they didn't bother to do my final inspection (apparently since I wasn't buying a car right then and there, they didn't want to waste their time). Anyhow, I call Carlos a few days later and he starts to quote me pricing on a new lease. He seemed stumped when I asked him what the Capitalized Cost would be and said he need to check with his manager and call me back. That was the last I heard from Carlos, since he asked if I was going to come in and do the deal that day and I said I needed more info. I was starting to see a pattern emerge with Carlos...if you weren't gonna act right then and there, he isn't interested in your business. I tried calling him (both office and cell) and Mindy over the next week and never got a return call...I'm talking about numerous messages. I guess he didn't want to sell a car to me apparently. Fast forward to today. I call the office line to once again get my lease turn in finalized and guess who picks up the office line - CARLOS ESCAMILLA JR. I identify myself and ask why he didn't call me back the same day he would (January 27th) or any day afterwards. That's when Carlos literally laughed at me and said that he had a "family emergency." I asked why he didn't call at all since I even left him a message on his cell phone. Again, he laughed and said he just got back today (February 7th) and I said, why didn't he call me today then. So unprofessional. If you are going to purchase a Ford and you decide to go to Ford County, be sure to avoid CARLOS ESCAMILLA JR or MINDY when trying to get a deal done. They are both unprofessional, don't return calls and lie to get you in the door (as in Mindy's case with the whole lease return inspection process). I bought my original car through Ryan Burgess and he was an honest, helpful and professional salesperson. Ford Country seems to really have taken a turn for the worse over the past few years. Their service department was awful the last time I used them too. My previous car was serviced through them really easy, but that was my company car...maybe they treat their fleet customers differently, but I've seen a drastic change in this dealership since I started going to them awhile back. Whatever you do, avoid CARLOS ESCAMILLA JR. and MINDY if you're going to buy a car...or better yet, skipping Ford Country might be in your best bet.
