I recently stayed at the Best Western in Henderson Nevada. Upon arrival I found the hotel nicely decorated and attractive. I noticed that the hotel is located in an area I was not comfortable with. The hotel is located in a commercial area with a convenience market/gas station next-door. Two people were fighting in the parking lot of the gas station when we arrived. There is a large trucking business located behind the hotel and one of the large truck was blocking our way as we tried to enter the hotel parking lot.
I was traveling with my 11-year-old daughter and asked if there were any restaurants within walking distance. The hotel clerk advised of only one restaurant within walking distance but indicated it was located in the casino down the street. The clerk agreed that it would not be appropriate for 11-year-old girl because of the cigarette smoke in the casino. We found many restaurants approximately 2 to 3 miles from the hotel. When we returned from dinner we found a hotel was locked with the exception of the front door. We parked our car directly under a sign that read "not responsible for loss or theft"
After returning home, I received the survey from best Western and advised them of my experience at their hotel. I received an immediate response from the hotel manager who claimed I was ignorant and had lied only about the negative things I had indicated. I have made several requests for the hotel manager to call me on the telephone but I'm still waiting.
