Another one bit the dust... formerly Menchie's turned Chilly Willy's and now Udderly Rolled. Rolled ice cream has gained popularity over the years but like I said before it's a novelty that's a hit and miss for everyone. To each his own kinda deal.
Not a big fan of this particular one, not sure if it's a chain or not but first visit wasn't exactly memorable. Nothing about the place stood out. The cashier was overly enthused which I have to give credit for, made me laugh. Menu was generic, nothing screamed ohhhh I gotta have that. I opted for a large Peanut butter cup and kids decided on the Oreo. I thought it was kinda odd they use Reese's peanut butter cups instead of real peanut butter, the end result was an extremely sweet concoction that was lacking in peanut butter flavor.
It was weird not having interaction with the one making the ice cream either. They were training and was lost in their own world. I think interaction is key to these novelty places, just my 2 cents. They do offer açaí bowls and shaved ice, maybe I'll try those next time. Truthfully though I'll drive a little farther down to Rolled where the quality and selections are better. Only time will tell if this new addition will be a hit or miss.
