| - I'm into my second 10-week session with Rainbow Songs at their Roncesvalles location) and my 2 year old and I have both enjoyed it. Our classes are with Jessica, who is a talented singer and guitar player as well as a master at managing a room full of toddlers. She strikes a nice balance between repeating songs, so that everyone knows the words, and introducing new songs to keep things fresh. There are classics (Wheels on the Bus, Old MacDonald) as well as some Jessica originals.
We always end with a jam session that includes some rowdy songs with the kids and grown ups playing along with instruments from a huge hockey bag full of tambourines, maracas, castinets, drums and other assorted percussion instruments. My inner bongo drummer sometimes emerges, but then sometimes I'm happy to shake a maraca gently in the background.
The school is well run and organized. The admin is a little clunky, with email being the way to reserve a spot, and a follow up phone call the payment collection method, but they make it easy under the circumstances. I was accidentally charged twice for the first session and they corrected it and apologized promptly before I even noticed. It was really good "service recovery" as they say.
I recommend it to all my friends and we will definitely keep going back. It's a great way to get out of the house in the winter and to meet other moms and kids.
