I was at the StrEats Festival and I was excited to try the food trucks. Slidin'Thru had the longest lines so naturally, I had to try it. The truck was decorated like a comic book. It looked fun and the people working the truck were also fun (you give them a fist pound before placing an order.
It was hot and humid, so standing in line was not comfortable and it took an unnecessarily long time just to place the order. By the time I placed my order, I was feeling a little whoozy and had to buy some water. I got the Barby: melted cheddar. caramelized jalapeño. crispy fried onion strips. bbq sauce and the Captain's Order: roma tomato. arugula. feta cheese. sautéed onion. balsamic reduction.
The sliders, were just alright, nothing so spectacular. For as long as I waited, it was quite a let down. I wished they were more creative with their menu. Hate to compare, but once you had Grill Em All, the bar is set high.
Good to try, but I won't be trying them again.
