| - Local businesses: beware of a complete scam that is MyVegas Magazine***
Probably the worst local magazine to have ever existed. Its clientele sees no benefits from being featured in it as it Does Not circulate anywhere else except to the business locations of the clients! The owner uses this publication as his personal bank and a means for discounts or free stuff. There is absolutely no money or care put into the promised advertisements.
The employees of this business are treated with utmost disrespect and psychopathic tendencies of a narcissistic sociopath who owns it. The "customer service reps" here are talented people who work Less as reps & More as publishing assistants who are severely underpaid and harassed daily. The owner is also a highly sexist individual who only hires women & underpays the men-- if you can believe that. Every single employee Ever has quit because of the trauma experienced here. I have never, Ever come across a more vile, dishonest and delusional individual in my Entire life, & I have seen a lot life, on multiple continents. The owner Constantly trashes his employees and causes arguments between hard working individuals who dedicate their time to cover for his insecurities and liabilities.*What happens inside the company is not in ANY WAY the image of himself that the owner represents to clients. Please do not be fooled by the manipulations of this sociopath, it will do nothing for your company except connect you to a very dramatic and delusional business that brings absolutely no results to your brand and your company's visibility or relevance.
This is not to trash a person, this information is very relevant to a client who does business with this company, especially organizations who are in the business of women's or labor rights, organizations who focus on sexual harassment or discrimination in the work place, medical partners who focus on mental & emotional well-being & any client who in general needs to have strong associations and ties to other businesses with stellar reputations. Many local agencies & businesses refuse to have anything to do with this magazine because of the owners horrible reputation. All of this can be verified by a string of former employees and clients who have had the experience.
I recommend to anyone who pays to have their business featured in this "magazine" to pull it and save their money because it has absolutely no audience (advertised audience of 100,000 readers is an absolute falsification). They have been addressed MANY times for copyright infringement; in fact, the owner forces his employees to steal intellectual property off of the web to be used in the graphic work. He steals employees ideas & passes them as his own!
There have been instances that if an employee refuses to participate, the owner, Mark Shaffer, would hire another unsuspecting (female) and would give that new employee this work in secrecy. It's usually someone who does not understand intellectual property. He does not notify the clients of this because he leads them to believe that his company will pay for the stock imagery. FREELANCE ARTISTS HAVE THREATENED LAWSUIT FOR THEFT OF THEIR WORK AND SUBSEQUENT PUBLICATION OF IN THE MAGAZINE. Beware of providing any samples to this business, they will use it without permission.
As an FYI and big red flag, MYVEGAS was dumped by its printing vendor for not paying his bills. The company/owner can't afford/refuses to buy more than 1,000 some copies per issue and this means that they do not circulate as much as promised to client. Check it!
The website is so poorly managed and sees virtually NO traffic. It may, on average, get about 500-1000 hits in a month and most of that are just bots. Check it!
The "voting" for top doctors, lawyers or any professional category is an Absolute Lie. No reader has Ever voted for such; the "sales" person and other employees are encouraged to Lie to clients about this when the solicit their business. Owner plans a TOP *** list and forces employees to lure clients with the illusion of the win. He does not have a "reader list" or an audience, he has an email database of people from mixers.
If you do not believe this review, please contact the owner and the webmaster and ask them to show you physical proof of how they handle your account and all analytics that promise you exposure and marketing success through their publication, including these so called "readers" and the voting procedures and results accumulated. Ask them about click throughs and traffic sent to the client's site from the advertisements listed on MyVegas and paid to the magazine. You will see that there are no benefit to advertising with MyVegas and that the only method of apparent success is the deception of clients. See for yourself, the proof is in the numbers and analytics. Clients are catching on and are consistently dropping and are replaced with new ones who are not familiar with the methods used by this scam.
