The Toronto Christmas Market is a fairly new staple in Toronto. With an optional charitable donation to enter, it is an easy way to get in the holiday spirit without breaking the bank.
There are often free samples of hot chocolate and Coca-Cola, among various outdoor vendors each serving different foods. We opted for the roast beef sandwiches which were tender and juicy. Not-so-secret shame: I went back the next night and had another sandwich!
I'd recommend visiting at night. The lights are gorgeous against the night sky. And if you're in for a nightcap, there are plenty of outdoor fire pits to keep you cozy. They are so powerful that my clothes were infused with that classic campfire smell the next day!
I was a bit disappointed with the variety of vendors selling merchandise. I had better luck at local craft shows. But there are also stores to enter if you're aching for more shopping.
I will definitely be back next year!
