  • One of the perks of living in Vegas is having access to great local bars and lounges to hang out at - La Casa did not disappoint! One of my vices is that I enjoy an occasional cigar. It's something I picked up many years ago, then took a break from for several years. Recently I've reignited my passion and have found a new love for cigars! I've had La Casa bookmarked for some time, but couldn't seem to find the right company that would appreciate it like I do, until recently. The day I visited I was in the area for an early dinner and was looking to enjoy an after dinner cocktail. I didn't know how the atmosphere would be, since it's a lounge and we were dropping in around 6:00 pm. I worried we might have the whole place to ourselves and it would be boring. To my surprise, we arrived and there were at least a dozen other people there all seeming to enjoy themselves. I knew from doing my research that the cigar selection would be good, and it was. I had a hard time selecting just one cigar, and truth be told I purchased two to take home with me as well and one for myself and my date to each smoke. The price range on the cigars was around $6 - $40, so really there's something for everyone - including a decent selection of flavored cigars for those who are not big on cigar flavor. I am a total fan of drinking scotch or whiskey with a fine cigar, and La Casa has an extensive selection of each available; many brands they have multiple aging options on hand as well. But I've been on a Moscow Mule kick for a while and couldn't resist trying one here. So my date enjoyed a 12 year Balvenie ($20) and I tried the Moscow Mule ($15). Personally the Mule had too much lime for my taste, and I prefer a Mule with some bitters. It wasn't bad, but it also isn't something I'd order again. I tried the Balvenie and will definitely order that next time... smooth! We had the rare experience of seeing a small time celebrity there during our visit. We bought him a drink and got to visit with him for a bit. It was an unexpected treat and made our experience even more memorable! The lounge is filled with comfy leather pub chairs, so there's not an uncomfortable seat in the house. It really lends to wanting to stick around for a while. I can't wait to go back in the later evening hours to enjoy some live music! If you enjoy cigars, and or don't mind the smell of cigar smoke this place is a must try hot spot! I'll be returning soon!
