I've been to Buff a couple of times for pedicures because of a few magazine and website write-ups about how lovely this place was. After one so-so experience I waited a couple of months before going back (and even then it was only because I was in the area) to give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I had just been there on an off day?
My original first impression of the place was that it was clean, had a chic decor but that the staff didn't really care whether there was business or not - which is not a great attitude to have. The nail technicians seemed annoyed to have a client, which was weird because they weren't busy and by the time I left only 1 other customer had come in for a service.
One thing that I do like is that they give you the option of buying a set of tools that they keep there for your exclusive use, however there were little labeled plastic boxes stacked up against a couple of walls making the space look cluttered.
The pedicure itself was nothing special - the leg massage I received was a joke. Let me put it this way - slathering lotion on my calves and rubbing the lotion in vigorously doesn't constitute a massage. They don't have any drying fans so even when I left I had to be very careful not to smudge my polish.
After 2 lack-lustre experiences at Buff, I won't be back.
