| - Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital & it's affiliates - do NOT use them. I would give them ZERO stars if it was an option.
On January 30, 2018 I had to bring in my sweet 11 year old pug, Bella, to be euthanized. On top of it being already extremely difficult - they made it worse. We were told that the amount to have her euthanized was $79.25. After going back & forth on having her cremated, we decided to just go with the paw print remembrance frame because they charge SO much money for the cremation through them. The total ended up being $194.25 for everything. The breakdown is as follows:
Paw print w/lock of fur $40.00
Euthanasia $40.00
Cremation, communal $75.00
Medical waste disposal $4.25
Intravenous Catheterization $35.00
About an hour after I got home, still a crying mess, Rachel called me from the vet to let me know about a "past due balance" I had with them from 2014. But, it wasn't with them. It was from Henderson Animal Hospital, one of their sister locations. Nothing was mentioned about any past due balance when we were there, mind you, they had my social security number & all info written down on their pet information paper I had to fill out. Plus, the receipt says account balance $0. I had money owed to them from 2014 that after making payments on it, I had to file bankruptcy & was advised by my attorney to stop making payments on it. Henderson Animal Hospital was included in my bankruptcy, therefore, wiping out the past due balance. I let Rachel know that, along with my discharge date of October 14, 2016 & she stated she would call me back.
Robin is who called me back instead of Rachel. She also called to talk about the past due balance (which is illegal to do once a bk has been filed & discharged, which mine has.) I reminded her of my rights when it comes to that & she said "how do you expect me to act towards you when you walked out on a bill before?"
Umm, I expect you to act like a human.
I had ended up changing my mind around 3:45pm on the same day about the cremation of my little Bella, & called Compassionate Pet Cremation & paid for her cremation over the phone. I had done this AFTER I had confirmation from both Maressa & Rachel that their communal crematory service would be picking her up on the morning of the 31st - so it wasn't too late for me to change my mind. When I mentioned that to Robin, I was on speaker phone & Dr. Stanton then got on to tell me that the money we paid them for the said services above - belonged to them & it was actually money paid towards my account itself & not towards the services rendered for my dog. He said "look, I own all of these hospitals and your dog belongs to ME now!! End of fucking discussion!!!!" & he proceeded to hang up on me.
Robin has continually called me & my mother both, multiple times daily harassing us both about the money COMPLETELY disregarding the fact that a bankruptcy was filed AND discharged making this past due balance no longer valid. She has continued calling even after being flat out told to STOP calling.
Fast forward to this morning, Robin called me to let me & my mother know that they would only refund her $70.00 but they would refund it only IF she removed her bad 1 star review on Facebook about them. WHAT!! Not only is that BLACK MAIL, but they owe a $115.00 refund!! We did NOT utilize the services charged for the cremation & the framed paw print after all.
This company is ran by a total complete thief & his staff follow right along in his footsteps. They are completely unethical & disrespectful. This is how I'm assuming all 4 locations run with them since they are all owned by the same heartless man. Henderson Animal Hospital. Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital. Stephanie Animal Hospital. Boulder City Animal Hospital.
Dr. Stanton has stolen $115 & has NO right talking to his patients/clients the way he spoke to, or I should say yelled at me on the phone. Completely unprofessional & I believe any & all animal lovers/owners deserve to know how they run business so that they don't ever go through what we have went through with them.
Edit to add : they called & offered a $70 of the $115 refund only IF the 1 star Facebook review my mom posted was removed.
