| - I researched all of the menus and themes in the Wynn/Encore properties, and Sinatra seemed to best fit the bill for what I was looking for to surprise my honey with. Fine Italian Vegan dining? Check! Beautiful ambiance? Check! Soft background mood music? Umm... Yes, if you dig Sinatra music.
Upon being seated by our hostess, I displayed my redneck charm by assisting her while turning the table to seat us. I didn't realize what she was doing as it's customary in these "fine dining" establishments to turn the table a bit to allow the lady to sit down, then turn it back. I thought she knew we wanted to sit on the same side and was turning it to accommodate us. Once she realized that was my thought, she quickly offered to seat us in a booth, side by side. Very nice of her.
The service other than the hostess was a bit substandard. I could see the dollar signs dimming in the eyes of our waitress when we told her we would be declining the drink menu. Yes, I know this was my first trip to Vegas where I stayed near completely sober... When we requested the Vegan menu, she knew our bill wasn't going to reach the point where her take would be $20 or more. From that point on, she offered the minimum amount of service possible while pasting on a phony smile.
The exquisite food all made up for it once it was rolled out. The Chick-non Marsala brought me back to childhood when my mom would fry up some chicken breast in the ol' electric skillet, using her patented blend of Lawry's seasoning. It was one of the most authentically meaty tasting dishes I've had in 16+ years. If that's your thing, this dish is for you! Although it was slightly on the salty side, that's ok for me since I crave sodium as much as my body craves water. This sumptuous chick-non patty was laid on a bed of my favorite pasta, gnocchi. This created a meal, that was nearly worth it's $33 price tag. I can really get used to eating smaller portions when they taste this amazing.
The beet salad was good with various types of beets laid out artfully in a rectangular platter. It was a little pricey at $14 but worth ordering if you're a fan of the beets like we are.
The Cioccolato we ordered for dessert was a cocoa powder covered delight. Definitely order a coffee with this one to soak up all that chocolate flavor. Just don't order a latte. I'm not sure they make them here. They brought out something resembling espresso with steamed milk, yet it wasn't a latte as I'm used to. Maybe go for their cappuccino instead since I think they would do a better job at that. This is a dessert that is meant to be savored, so if you're feeding your partner, take it slowly...
Sinatra is where the true "High Rollers" come to eat http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sinatra-las-vegas#Q_78_I5-KnUrRsAqFrJ1mg You won't have to worry about remembering any of ol' Blue Eyes greatest hits, as they'll play softly in the background, all while you dine in classy, elegant style. It's nice to see how the other half lives, if only for one meal.
If you have a special someone in your life that loves Italian food, but just so happens to be Vegan, take them to Sinatra. You may just make their day as special as they are themselves.
