| - Hendrick BMW Northlake. Savvy or Sleazy?
My family has had a most immoral, blatantly penny pinching, sordid, non-customer oriented sales experience from Hendricks Northlake, again... for the 2nd time with new vehicles. We left Hendricks a couple of years ago in favor of a dealership 100 miles away exactly for the same cheap, nickel 'n dime, dark alley type sales displayed yesterday.
We are looking to get another vehicle but decided to first "test" Hendricks again since they are local to us. However, while returning a leased vehicle yesterday, we were once again met with precisely the same, almost borderline criminal, disreputable, heavy handed sales pitches and gimmicks.
We are set up with Jason Baldridge, a digital analyst, who will be the one "evaluating" the returning vehicle. Among other phantom charges, this "analyst" wanted to charge us for a "scratch" on the front bumper right where the plate holder sits (pictures and video available for entire car), which measures less than 1 inch. This so-called scratch is not really visible but can be somewhat felt to the touch - and is apparently only in the "gloss" not the paint or metal; easily buffed away. Then there were the tires. He said they are at the "minimum" levels (AT min thread level)... but which anyone else who has measured, including someone doing it right in front of them, proves them wrong. Clearly above the mins. Right in front of them!!!
One of their general managers came out to "subside" the situation, since the place was full of visitors and this conversation was embarrassing for them. All the while their analyst/salesman, Jason, is smirking and actually grinning, to the point that I had to call him out on it. I was not finding anything funny about someone trying to take advantage of a woman, which is what it started to sound like. And all of this, in front of this site manager, which leads me to perhaps believe their sales directives.
But the "hustle" doesn't stop here. Hendricks Northlake proposes the only other option available to me: a "3rd party" review. Keep in mind this is for a BMW leased new in mid 2015 that has been exclusively serviced by BMW, driven only locally and has not had any type of incident whatsoever. There are 2 catches, however, to this 3rd party as defined by Brian Kauffman, from finance. First, we would be "bound" by any and ALL charges that their 3rd party deems appropriate, regardless of current evaluations, including all additional deemed costs and charges. 2nd catch? The "3rd party" is THEIR pick and choice, nobody else's.
At this point, and because I really must catch a plane, I decided that I will again go 100 miles to get a new car and return this one.
People, all I can say is: stay away, far away, from this dealer and from these money hungry, ruthless "traveling salesmen" type people. Otherwise, be prepared to go in with an experienced lawyer and double the money of whatever you are "promised".
