  • I came here on March 25th for my boyfriends birthday as a surprise dinner. Let me tell you, I had no idea what to expect and it was more than I could've imagined. This is my boyfriends favorite restaurant, which is why I brought him, and now my absolute favorite as well. We started off with an appetizer; a dozen blue point oysters. For people who don't know me, I love pretty much all seafood except oysters and squid (I used to love squid but the texture freaks me out. Maybe someday I'll love it again) but my boyfriend wanted me to try it, even though I knew previously I didn't like it. So I did. He put lemon on it and there was 3 sauces to choose from. There was one that reminds me of soy sauce mixed with wasabi, like a person would dip their sushi in. But I'm not sure if that was what it was. But I put that on mine and it was actually really good. So officially I like oysters now!! And then we both got a soup cup. He got the lobster bisque and I got the Louisiana seafood gumbo which I have ALWAYS wanted to try! Both soups were super yummy. I was very impressed. So far I had not been let down! Next was our actual meal. I got the pasta Mardi Gras and my boyfriend got the grilled Caribbean lobster tail. My pasta was amazing. I've always been big on pasta. The sauce was tasty and it has sausage and shrimps in it. My boyfriends included lobster, mashed red potatoes and broccolini. His was good too. Lastly, I had told the waitress by the name of devyn (I think that's how she spelled it) who by the way was very nice and friendly. She had great customer service. If you go, definitely ask to be seated in her area!! Anyways I told her that it was my boyfriends birthday so at the end they offered complimentary dessert. They had so many good ones to choose from. We picked the banana pudding. Haha thinking about it makes me hungry and my mouth water. I've had banana pudding before. I usually only like my family's cause it's a family recipe but pappadeux's knows how to make some amazing banana pudding. Lastly a couple things, if you are going for a special occasion, I recommend making a reservation. I was so glad I made a reservation. When we got there it was so packed, inside and out. Second, the place is beautiful. If you can, and you know it's going to be a nice day, I'd say sit outside. We didn't get to, but that's okay. Thirdly, everyone there is nice and quick and efficient. Please check this place out! They deserve some more good business. I can't wait to go back again.
