Priceline.com: $98 per night! (March 2012)
My first impression upon walking into this hotel was that it was super-pretentious. Over time, though, this hotel proved itself to be of a very high quality.
The room was super modern, which put me off initially. Gradually, though, I came to appreciate many of the subtle touches: heated floor in the bathroom, massive closet, numerous nooks and crannies for storage, huge shower, floor-to-ceiling windows, etc.
All of my interactions with the hotel staff left me with a good feeling. Everyone was very polite and very professional.
This hotel is in a building that also houses apartments (separated from the hotel). There is a beautiful park across the street that has many doggy visitors.
The lobby bar and restaurant are hopping at night. The crowd is very hip ...to be expected in the Fashion District.
I would definitely return to this hotel.
The good:
- right on the streetcar line
- park across the street
- close to everything
The bad:
- all TV channels were standard def except the paid movie channel
- $15 / day internet
- expensive parking (many alternatives within one block)
