Let's just start out by saying I stay at many marriott properties throughout the country as I travel for work. I also stayed at this residence inn many times. However this was the final straw.
1. It is an older residence inn but it is close to many dining and entertainment options. Also close to the freeway.
2. When you book a room with a king size bed you should get a room with a king size bed. You should not be treated like some guy walking in off the street asking for a room. My room was booked over a month in advance. I arrive and no rooms are available. Why overbook and allow people to book rooms with king beds if you know you don't or won't have enough rooms to accommodate all the king bed requests.
3. So they tell me I can downgrade to a queen bed. This is never what you want to hear. Being downgraded. They should have simply offered and described the rooms so I could understand what the hell they were talking about.
4. Manager finally comes over after several minutes and says can I help. I'm seriously wondering why he waited so long to intervene. I mean you're obviously listening to the conversation....why let it get to the point of frustration and anger. He stepped in and was very thorough in explaining it.
5. They gave me a room on the 1st floor right near the exit doors after I had already explained about the noise level last time I stayed here. So I had to go back to the front desk again to get another room on another floor.
6. Finally get to room to get settled. Go out for some late dinner and return only to find crickets in the room. Now it was very late and I didn't want to deal with it so I killed them all. See pictures of the crickets in my room.
7. Was just plain dirty. Chairs, stains everywhere. See pictures.
Probably best the travel down a few exits to glendale and stay at the residence inn near the glendale stadium. It's newer and has nice staff and the rooms are cleaner and don't have crickets and they also don't overbook.
