| - I have always heard that Apple has great customer service. Today I put it to the test and was not disappointed.
I purchased an iPhone from the Sprint store two years ago, and it worked fine until the other day, when it stopped taking a charge (apparently it is a bad idea to use off-brand charging cables). Fortunately (I thought), I had been paying a monthly phone insurance through Sprint, and thought I would be able to get it replaced. However, I was told that while my phone was kaput, this particular issue was not covered by the insurance and the best they could do was sell me a new phone with an amazing monthly installment deal. After a few calculations, I soon discovered that this fabulous deal would cost about three times what I originally paid for the phone. Not so great. I decided to see what Apple could do.
I tentatively displayed my phone at the Genius Bar, and was immediately assigned a Genius for assistance. He confirmed that my phone was, alas, unrepairable, but that Apple could replace it for original cost. Much better than the Sprint deal! The Genius walked me through the entire process of replacing the old phone and transferring data to the new one, and was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the visit, providing quick and informative answers to all my questions and concerns. The session took a bit of time, but I left with the feeling that I had just been to see a friend who also happened to sell Apple products. Although I plan on being more careful with my charging-cable choices in the future so that I won't have to go through this again, the staff at this store definitely made the experience much less painful, and for that I wholeheartedly recommend them!
