My original comments for this company we're they were professional, polite, and right on time. Then came this little problem...
Initially they installed a pressure regulator on my house and fixed a valve in the back of my house. After he left my water pipes began hammering. I called them back and they promptly returned. The verdict was a fault pressure regulator so they replaced it with another one. Ever since this valve was installed I noticed that while taking a shower the water would pause while the sink faucet was being used. The problem was quite annoying so I called another plumber to take a look at it. This plumber noted that the valve was faulty and replaced it with a different brand. The problem is now fixed. He also pointed out that the valve Mountain Valley Plumbing replaced on the back of my house was leaking (see picture). So I had to replace that as well.
Basically, all of the work this company did for me ($660) had to be completely re-done. When I called and spoke to Connie (very polite and nice) to explain the issues she told me she was going to look into it. She called me back and requested to speak to the plumber who was actually at my house finishing up fixing the mistakes of Mountain Valley. I put my plumber on the phone with her. I listened to the entire conversation and my plumber was professional, never raised his voice and explained the issues I had been having. After they finished the call my plumber hands me the phone and there is some guy on the phone asking me why I'm harassing him. They requested to speak with my new plumber and then tell me I'm harassing them by "making them" speak to my plumber. Huh?
He then proceeded to tell me I should have called them back to fix the problem....ya, just what I want to do, a THIRD visit from them. I would rather eat the $660 (which I ended up doing) and having it fixed correctly. My plumber made it sound like it was another defective pressure valve. The installer Mountain Valley used (James) seemed knowledge and was polite so I would probably say it was faulty parts as well. Of course faulty parts are still faulty and caused a major and expensive headache.
This is probably the worst company I've dealt with on Yelp and I highly advise finding another company to do your work. I was cautiously optimistic they were going to correct this by giving me a partial refund, but instead I was put on the phone with some angry man who was basically accusing me and telling me I should let them try to repair the issues over and over until it's finally corrected. As the owner of a small business myself I try to avoid writing other small businesses with 1 star reviews, but I've never dealt with such poor service in my life...and then to finish by stating I was harassing him was just the finishing touch.
I would like to add the other plumber repaired all of the work for $400...notably cheaper than Mountain Valley.
**To respond to Connie's comment: You are acknowledging that both of the PRVs you installed were defective and are surprised I didn't want you to try a third time? When it began having issues I was basically forced to call someone else because the odds of Mountain Valley being able to correct it on the third visit were highly unlikely.
