| - Oh, man, I love this place. I found it years ago, when I was looking for a steak that didn't taste like McDonald's hamburger. I lived nearby and for a long time got my meat there and there alone. Then I moved across the city, but I still go back whenever I can. Not for the fantastic beef, oh no. For the PORK. Their beef is great, don't get me wrong, but I have found nowhere in all the Valley that can match their pigs. They raise them themselves, own their own slaughterhouse, butcher everything like a real butcher does... The list goes on. They also make their own fresh sausages and smoke bacon and hams. Their Hassayampa ham (named for a local river) is to die for. I get it every Thanksgiving. There is one in my fridge right now.
They are also super friendly and patient, even if you stand there forever staring at the front case, making them wait for you to pick what you want (There's a lot to pick from, okay?) Or if you ask for half a ham, wait for them to cut it, and then turn into Goldilocks (this half is too small but that one is too large and can you please cut another?) Saints. Really.
What else can I say? Go buy some meat!
