| - BEWARE BEFORE YOU SIGN UP! Gold's Gym is unwilling to work with you if you aren't able to make a single payment. For the first time needing assistance, I called (member services at (800) 693-3948) to see if I could pay on a later due date WITHIN the month. I'm not asking for a free month, I just needed a little more time. The rep said that he was unable to make any arrangements for me. So I requested to cancel. The rep stated that I would still be charged the monthly fee PLUS ANOTHER MONTH, need to cancel with 30 days notice, I must be current in order to cancel (so in other words dig me into a deeper hole and accrue more fees because obviously this scheduled payment is going to bounce), and that I have to EMAIL my request to "cancelme@fiserv.com". Member services my a**!!! The whole point of my call was so that I could avoid all of this mess. I should have stayed with 24 hour fitness instead of switching to Gold's Gym - they were at least willing to try and keep me as a customer and I didn't have to jump through hoops to get a simple cancellation request done. 24 hour Fitness = one call, no hassle. Gold's Gym = take your money, screw you over, and a pain in the glutes to cancel. After doing some research on Google, I see that other's have dealt with the same problem and some have gone through worse. I regret not doing my research before signing up for Gold's. Hey "Zeynep Watson", I see that you reply on some of these posts. How about putting your energy towards getting corporate to provide better customer service. I would do it but I don't want to jump through anymore hoops and waist my time. The least that I can do is post my experience so that others can see firsthand -make good choices - and not join your gym! For anyone reading this, even if you don't want to cancel (yet), I encourage you to call the number so that you can see how lame and robotic they are.
