  • On Tuesday afternoon a friend and I walked into this store for the hairspray sale. When we got to the register to pay I noticed a handwritten sign that read "Free deep conditioning treatment. Ask how!". So I asked Madison, the clerk, how and why it's free. She told us "It's because we are so slow on Thursdays we are trying to bring in business". I asked her "it's completely free?" and she said "Yes, we just hope it will entice customers into getting other services. I've seen some women walk right out with wet hair." I asked her if we have to schedule and appointment but she said "no, you'd be fine to just walk in." So Thursday. 06/05/2014, comes around and we make an appointment for 5PM. When we get there I am seated while my friend waits for her hair dresser. Turns out the treatment wasn't free, you had to have a service to receive it for free such as a hair trim, or highlights. They told us over and over that we misunderstood, or we read it wrong. But I didn't misunderstand or read it wrong, Madison told us wrong-BUT THAT'S OKAY BECAUSE PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES! it was actually fine. The way they handled the situation wasn't. One short girl with brown hair seemed proactive in getting to the bottom of the misunderstanding by making a phone call and getting a name of the person who told us misinformation. But being proactive THAT way doesn't help. There wasn't anything offered for our time. We just felt shooed off, like "sorry it's not what you thought. bye." There was a bigger and taller woman working there who is a hair dresser, Candice, with an eyebrow ring and brown curly hair that was actually quite rude during the whole miscommunication. "Well it's not free. you have to get a service first so what's your service?" GROSS. (I'd hide this hairdresser in the back and she can sweep the hair because her people skills SUCH) So despite that my friend and I are easy going girls, and we understand mistakes happen-it's the way that they handled the situation that was off-putting and has made me want to talk about this particular salon.
