A must when in Arizona.
Our guide told us that today, the garden helps save endangered plants, with the focus on native flora and special emphasis on succulents. The cactus collection is world-renowned and between the months of March through May, the seasonal blooms are spectacular. We went in January and the temperature was in the 70's, what was just perfect for a stroll in the desert.
The garden hosts numerous events throughout the year, some of which include the popular 'Butterfly Habitat' during the spring and the 'Luminarias' during the holiday season. An Arizona resident told me the "LuminĂ¡rias" is a beautiful sight during the holidays and gives the garden a peaceful and amazing lighting.
And don't forget your hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water for hydration!
