| - UPDATE: After trying to self-remove my gel polish 3 full weeks after application, I finally gave up and returned to 'Q' to get the polish removed professionally because it just would not come off. On the board on the wall the first service says GEL REMOVAL: $5.00. So I walked in and asked for a Gel Removal. Q said, $15 for a manicure. I said, no, I don't want a manicure, I just want the gel off. They said $10 for gel removal and polish change. I repeated that I didn't want polish, just the gel off. He said "Your nails will be ugly." I said, my gel lasted forever and I would love to return in the future for another service, but I pointed to the board and said, the sign says $5 for Gel Removal and that is the service that I want today. I HATED that I felt hustled and when I was finished with my service, I slapped down a 5 and walked out. I shouldn't have to fight with the manager for a very clear and simple service request.

I walked in on a Monday afternoon for a simple gel manicure for a wedding that weekend. I loved their wide range of gel colors and appreciated that they were arranged like a color wheel and that "add-on" options (like matte finish, French and sparkle) were priced clearly and kept on a separate sample display wheel.
I also appreciated that she gave me enough time to actually chose a color and was patient as I changed my mind (several times.) The location appeared clean and simple, and I liked that the woman spoke English well and consistently (even to her co-worker.)
One thing I did not like was that her co-worker (or potentially her mother) took off her shoes and kept her bare feet on an empty chair - however, it was a chair only used by the technicians and not patrons (of which I was the only one.)
I don't believe that gel manicures are worth more than $20, so I mostly went for the price point. It is now a week into the service and while I do have a few teeny tiny chips on the tips of my nails, they're not cracking, peeling or coming up at the base. She did a pretty good job of evening out the length of my nails and cleaning up my cuticles. The finishing hand massage left a little something to be desired but that's just icing on the cake, in my opinion.
I was a walk-in the day after the Vegas shooting, so it was completely dead and a rather somber afternoon. I found her to be very considerate, asking if my friends and family were safe from both the shooting and the hurricane (as I told her I had family in Orlando.) For something close to home and affordable, it did the job I needed it to do!
