| - Wow this is a pleasant surprise! I'm part British by birth and spent a few weeks in the UK many moons ago, and I always crave and love a Good Brit pub. I stumbled upon this in Scottsdale as my dad and I were nearby and reviews sounded good. We were a bit afraid that, being Scottsdale, this would be a place where a pint of beer cost you $20 and you had to wear golf clothes to enter; but this is not the case. The atmosphere is cozy and wonderful, televisions everywhere with sports and such, nice bar area, looks like some regulars frequent. This was a Wednesday at lunch time and it wasn't hopping, the bartender tends the bar area and serves as waiter, and he knows his stuff here. My dad and I had salads off the menu (yeah, some Brits we are) he had a wedhe salad and I had something else, I forget the name, but wow, so good! Well priced and TASTY. We had some English Sausage Rolls- the sausage comes from the UK. And it's tender, and unreal, and so, so, good. And a cheese and onion Pastie- which my dad was less enamored by (in comparison to the sausage, wow, that sausage was good) but I enjoyed much more. It grew on him as it got more cheesy.
To top it off we both had a Bread Pudding ($7) and ... was it from England? I don't know. I just know it was massive, it was hot, it was like a bread pudding banana split, and I savored each bite like it was the second coming. Yum. So no beers today, but I'll keep this bar on my return-list. It was my first and only introduction to Scottsdale thus far, and I'm impressed.
