  • Had a stay-cation and decided to go to the Hyatt since I'm a platinum member and it was close to the restaurant we were going to. Reservations were simple and check-in was a breeze. We got a balcony room. Upon entering, we were surprised at how small the room was. Just a king sized bed, a desk, and a TV stand/cabinet. The bathroom was also very small and the shower was very dark. Decent water pressure though. The balcony was surprisingly large and had a small table and a couple chairs. One thing we noticed was how quiet the room was. Never once were we disturbed by neighbors on either side, above, or below. The floor feels like it's made from 12" of concrete! No pounding feet at all. That can most likely be attributed to the age of the building. One thing you should know about is the parking. You have a few choices. We self-parked at the regency garage just south of the hotel (which is the hotel's garage). If you plan on leaving the garage and coming back (as we did) you get a pass to swipe in and out. That costs $19 and is billed to your room. Otherwise, if you park there overnight without leaving it will cost you $12. Kind of a little surprise. They also have valet service at the same garage for $28. Save your money, just walk across the street. Park in the east side of the garage. You'll have the closest walk to the hotel. There is some epic graffiti on the whole side of the buildings in the alley south of the garage. Go to the 3rd or 4th floor and look over the edge! Amazing! Overall, it was a quiet, comfortable, and uneventful stay. One more thing, I got a notification on linked-in saying someone had viewed my profile. A guest experience manager in the hospitality industry in Phoenix with 0 connections and a very generic name. I think I got creeped on by the Hyatt during my stay! I guess they wanted to know more about me... Just for the record, I have absolutely no hospitality connections at all and this is the only time this has happened. Coincidence? I think not!
