| - Hands down one of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The Palazzo and Venetian are absolutely GORGEOUS. From the check-in area to the fountains to the indoor-outdoor shopping area to the beautiful large suites, this place has it all.
Amenities: If you booked at the Palazzo, you really get everything at the Venetian as well, which is awesome. Both hotels have a fabulous selection of restaurants, including SUSHISAMBA, Cut, DB Brasserie and Grimaldi's. Make sure to take advantage of all of the happy hours! In terms of other facilities, you get a really nice pool (and hot tubs), a great indoor rock climbing wall ($25/person for about an hour with instructors) and the famous Canyon Ranch spa (you can buy a day pass for $30 to get access to all of the different rooms or a service which automatically gets you access to the rest).
Decor/Ambiance: The hotel is very elegant-it definitely has an extremely Italian flavor (as to be expected from the name) but also puts a modern spin on things with really long, wide hallways (as opposed to the skinny streets that you see in actually Italy) and open spaces throughout the entire complex. In terms of people generally the crowd is a bit older. The Palazzo side of the casino isn't as populated as the Venetian side. Rooms look very new and are always promptly cleaned.
Location: The Palazzo/Venetian are right next to the Wynn and the Core, so it's at the edge of the most populated part of the strip towards the downtown area. Much to my surprise the strip is actually really long, so sometimes at night after going out at another club we would opt to take a car back as opposed to walk, but during the day if you're feeling a stroll you can pretty much see everything you want to see on foot within 45 minutes or so. It's not in the heart of all the action though so if you need everything to be steps away it might be easier to stay at the Bellagio or MGM Grand. The location is still prime though-don't get me wrong!
Next time I come back to Vegas I want to try another hotel simply because there are so many great ones on the strip, but I know I will always be able to default to the Palazzo!
