| - As a first time visitor, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of cut provided by Larry. Since Hagen had a few regular customers waiting to cut, I opted to skip that line and go with Larry.
If you're looking for a conversation, you're better off going elsewhere. But for a clean cut, Hagen Hair Barbers know what they're doing with eye for attention to detail. Customers are early 20s, and from a variety of cultures which is really cool.
In 15-20 mins, I left feeling clean with my side part and fade, which is a pretty simple ask and comparable to the style I've received from Crow's Nest before.
I'd take my chances with a walk in as it doesn't look like they have a robust booking system, so do expect to wait 10-15 minutes on the weekend.
In summary, this barber shop is a good middle ground between Chinatown barbers ($10) down the street, vs. more expensive barbers/salons, where you're paying more for the ambience and head massage. $21+ tip to feel this fresh? It's worth it and likely will become one of my regular spots.
