I made a quick stop to Allan's Pastry Shop on my way home. I wanted to buy the seconds as they had a promotion of buy one get one free, but they ran out. So I ended up ordering 6 spicy beef patties to go and they were only available hot.
My "beef" with them is that there is no beef in their patties. When I took a bite, all I tasted was the pastry shell, and then when I finally reached some meat. I was disappointed to see the patty had very little beef filling, it was spread so thin that you can actually see the other side of the pastry. It is literally 2 millimetres thick. It was also dried and tasted like had been sitting in the oven for too long. Maybe, that's the first problem. They have good seasoning, but it wasn't enough to turn my experience around. I've had my fair share of patties around the city and Allan's did not impress me one bit.
