  • Wow, wow, wow this place was AMAZING! My fiancĂ© took me here on a Saturday night at 6:30 and there were just a few others there at the time so that gave us a quiet, romantic setting. It's a small, quaint restaurant so I wouldn't expect it to be quiet all the time, but I will definitely go back to find out. We started with Devils on horseback (one of the most unique foods I've ever tried and so delish!) and Brussels sprouts (if you like Brussels sprouts, you will love these!). We both ordered steak for dinner and the plate was so fabulous, unlike any meal I've ever had and i mean that in an extraordinary way! The way they prepared everything from the potatoes, to the asparagus, to the accents/seasonings and the perfectly cooked steak was my idea of the best meal ever. If you like typical American-(over)sized portions, then you may be a little disappointed with these normal-sized (yet fulfilling) portions, but if you're looking for a romantic evening, an exquisite meal, and good service, this place is a must go. I feel very highly about Root 174 and will recommend to all of my friends. Can't wait to go back!!
