  • I recently completed a class (that combines kids of age 0-5) with a 3 year old and an 8 month old so my review is strictly of that particular class. My kids loved the hello song and my youngest waves every time I sing it still. There were pros and cons to the class which is why I gave it only 3 stars. I liked how there was constant music the entire time. The instructor was nice and the kids enjoyed her. She was really animated. They did different songs and activities each week, and you were able to spend time bonding with your little one(s). My older boy LOVED when it was time to play with the instruments, scarfs, parachute and get up and dance. Unfortunately, those times seemed too short. The cons were trying to keep my 3 year old son sitting still for too long during certain songs where you just sat in a circle, sang and listened. He was so excited he just wanted to get up and move constantly to the music which caused a bit of a distraction at times. It got to the point where I just skipped the last few classes because it was too hard trying to keep him still while holding my baby :/. Speaking of baby, my daughter was too young to really do anything, but she enjoyed sitting in my lap and watching. That class in particular was more suited for the younger toddlers/babies or more mature kids who could sit still and listen calmly for a length of time...great for my younger calm daughter, not so good for my high energy 3 year old. The other kids in the class (girls especially) seemed to enjoy it very much. All the songs in the class were foreign to us. We were given a cd and a nice music book with the lyrics, but I will be honest and say we only played it two or three times because my son (or I) didn't seem to care for it that much. We were supposed to help sing the songs in class and I just kind of mumbled my way through them because they were pretty corny and hard to remember. I was hoping for more familiar songs that my son would recognize and catch on to and more time playing musical instruments. I think my son would have benefited from a class with children his own age instead of the mixed class since it consisted of mostly young toddlers/babies but he still enjoyed it. I will be looking for a class more geared towards musical instruments instead of so much singing next time for him since that's what he really likes. I didn't do a risk free trial class before I signed up (because I was just so happy to be able to have both of my children participate in the same class) and I wish I would have because I would have passed. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't exactly a good fit for us. I would suggest doing a trial run first just to be sure it's what you're looking for.
