  • Aussie Hunks is unlike anything that I have ever seen. The group provides a level of entertainment that is purely immersive in its presentation. When visiting Las Vegas, there are several options for those who wish to see a male revue. Upon first hearing about Aussie Hunks, I wrongfully assumed that it was an imitation of Thunder from Down Under. However, upon researching and reading a review in Vegas Bright, I discovered that the show was interactive and very gay friendly. I found this to be entirely accurate to say the least. However, there are MANY fundamental differences that set this show apart from the Thunder show playing at Excalibur. The dancing in Aussie Hunks is so impressive that it flirts with giving any Cirque du Soleil show a run for its money. The routines are anything but stereotypical in their presentation and avoid the crass routines that one might expect from a male revue. Instead, Aussie Hunks provides its audience with spectacular gymnastics and dancing that exists beyond simply being utilized as a means by which to have the sexy hunks become removed from their clothing. That's not to say that the show isn't erotic or sexually stimulating. On the contrary, it is even more sexually charged in its anticipation of what is to come. However, where other shows may depend on the nudity to be the feature attraction, Aussie Hunks presents the nudity as the icing on the cake and recognizes that it is not the cake itself. One might argue that with stars as attractive as the Aussie Hunks, that this is entirely unnecessary. However, Aussie Hunks doesn't cut any corners. They recognize that the tease, the anticipation, and the presentation are sometimes more sexually charged than a fully naked man could ever be. While sitting through Thunder from Down Under, I found myself sneaking glances at my watch. When Aussie Hunks ended, I felt disappointed and wanted to sit through another hour of it. This attests to the way in which the show takes escapism to an entirely different level from other Vegas shows. It's nearly impossible to not be taken in by the fantasy that is playing out before your eyes. Another aspect that sets this show apart from the Thunder show at Excalibur is its stars' understanding of humanity in general. While the Thunder show provides its audience with a chance to take photos and "meet" the dancers after the show, this show brings the dancers straight into your lap...literally. I mentioned earlier that I had booked this show based upon reviews that I had read that suggested that it was gay friendly. While other shows may be welcoming to the gay community, they are more tolerant toward their gay fans. Aussie Hunks doesn't merely tolerate its gay fan base, but embraces them. They make no differentiation between male or female audience members and their demeanor toward you is no different from their demeanor toward the opposite sex. Even after the show, when all of the cast members go across the mall to have drinks at Blondie's, they are approachable and truly outgoing. I can honestly say that you feel accepted by the dancers in a way that is entirely foreign to the feeling I received when I shaked hands with the Thunder boys after having just seen their bare butts. The Aussie Hunks dancers provide an immersive experience that truly embraces all of their fans. The spirit of acceptance and understanding regarding their clientele that pervades their show is unparalleled to anything I could have ever expected to experience from a male revue. I would highly recommend going all out and purchasing the VIP tickets. I did and my only disappointment was that I was unable to drop another $100 for souvenirs as their gift shop is currently under construction. However, this may have been for the best as I imagine I would have received some unusual looks going through TSA check-in with a replica of Tommy's manhood in my luggage.
