For general hardware store use, this business is fine. DO NOT use them for any large projects. Since they are a retail chain, they require full payment up front for projects, leaving you with no financial leverage to get the work completed. Then they hire random local contractors that may or may not have the skills and resources to do the job. In our case, the contractor was unreliable, did not communicate status at all, and did very shoddy work. They ruined a hardwood floor while installing kitchen cabinets in our home. They messed up the cabinets by installing with a pneumatic staple gun that tore up the finish. They installed cabinets that were not level, so that the countertop contractor could not install the granite. Our simple kitchen remodel project is approaching 5 months and is still not complete. Lowe's does not provide the required oversight of these contractors to get the job completed.
