| - I love when I can write a rave review about a place. It's not often I give 5 stars, but when I do I mean it!
I'll start off by saying this, it's a small place so having a group of 17 people for a sit down dinner can be a little stressful up in here, but it can happen and it can be amazingly good! And it's just so beautiful and welcoming in there. Certainly a place to sit and stay awhile while you sip cocktails, have great conversations and enjoy amazing food.
We made reservations for my man's birthday dinner @ Carson's on a Sunday night around 8:30. The staff was very obliging with the fact that I didn't want to do a special prefix menu and drinks which was great since I didn't want to make people eat food or drink things they didn't want.
When we arrived (a bit early) the place was full and they weren't quite ready for our group yet. They let us know there was an outdoor patio area where we could wait with our drinks until our table was ready. The bartender was a good sport when he got pounded with drink orders - but he handled it professionally and whipped them out for us. He was shaking and stirring so hard, he had to take off his over shirt to cool down, but he didn't miss a step and made each one deliberately delicious. He even whipped out some off the menu orders for us. I stuck with the classic 'Towns End' and it remained my sipping pleasure for the evening. The outdoor space was really great too. A little fire pit glowing to keep us warm while we sipped our cocktails and beer. It's a great area to relax and mingle while you wait for a table.
Once we were finally seated we realized we had a few more people than seats, but the waitress and hostess (though a little frazzled) handled it well and we worked it all out. Our waitress was the bomb and took control of the orders with gusto and charm! I loved how organized and knowledgeable she was. She helped my sister in law figure out what her allergic self could consume and didn't miss a beat when food started arriving about who it went to. She was energetic and witty from start to finish! Great job lady!! I hate that in the chaos I didn't remember this feisty, petite, curly sand blonde headed gal's name. But I'm sure the owners know they have a catch with her there!
The food - every bit was delish and we tried so many things!! As a vegetarian, I can attest that there is PLENTY for you to eat here. Just for starters the Tempura Green Beans, Young Beets and Rainbow Cauliflower were all scrumptious. Many of my meat eaters loved all their dishes too. But what topped my evening off was the Bonofee Pie. Oh my my - this is like your grandmas banana pudding massively upgraded. As full as I was I licked every last morsel of that off the bowl. SO GOOD.
I would not hesitate a moment to go back here or recommend it to anyone! So do yourself a treat and book a table... now!
